MC - Quiet but only b/c his specialty is finding fish.
First time attendee 2009- MC is your basic fishing tech geek. He can wire just about anything with a fish finder.
- MC is super quiet which maybe has something to do with his ability to find fish.
- MC's inexperience works to his advantage b/c he might try new baits other might not ever try and sometimes these unknown baits have success.
Votto - Amazing BBQ chef and life long fisherman.
First time attendee 2009.- A good fisherman but a better BBQ cook. (That's a compliment to his cooking, not a knock on his fishing.)
- First time attendee in 2009, Votto is expected to be more of an impact in 2010.
- Votto is a life long fisherman growing up in a small town in rural Oklahoma, he is at home in Liberal.
Holmes Brown, Intense life long lake fisherman
Three time Participant 2007, 2008, 2009- Brown has been fishing his entire life. He is specializes in crank baits which has yet to be condusive to Angler's Paradise.
- Brown has a strategy of spending as much time as possible on the water. This sound strategy ensures that he maximizes the amount of time his line spends in the water.
- Brown tends to skimp on his steaks. One has to wonder if this has anything to do with Team Browson's 3 year 2nd place streak.
(b)AssMaster, Event site veteran and long time fisherman.
Three time Participant 2007, 2008, 2009- (b)AssMaster has spent the most time fishing the waters of Angler's Paradise and typically has one trip prior to each years tournament.
- Often forgets important items for the trip; Cookies from his wife, trolling motor, fishing net, Lion Bars amd I'm sure there is more.
- (b)Assmaster has the largest large mouth bass caught at Angler's Paradise but it was cuaght during a plessure trip and not during tournament time.
Kuta - Master Netter, Zebco King, 3time Champ.
Three time defending champions 2007, 2008, 2009- Kuta is king of the Zebcos and a Master Netter.
- Kuta is responsible for boat entertainment, keeping both team members cool and boat naviagation.
- Kuta is a diehard. He travels a greater distance than all other tournaments attendees combined.
DEEZNutz - 2 Times Biggest Fish Winner, 3 time defending champion.
Three time defending champions 2007, 2008, 2009- Deeznuts inability to sit still ensures maximum time fishing and very little time doing anything else.
- His persistence and over whelming distaste for not catching fish ensure he is quick to change baits until he finds the one they are biting on.
- Deeznuts is a two time defending "biggest fish" winner 2007 and 2009.
Tinky - Diverse skills from live bait to trolling.
First time attendee 2009- Tinky is a diehard fisherman. He quit his job so he could attend the 2009 tournament
- Tinky has some of the best equipment and a huge variety of lures b/c prior to the 2009 tournament he worked at an unnamed sporting goods store.
- Tinky is a former teammate of the three time defending champions Team Jurkblad. They all played on the same 8 year old soccer team.
Action Jackson is the master baiter and the Pink Panty Award Winner.
First time attendee 2009- Caught the least amount of fish out of everyone attending the tournament in 2009
- In his defense he probably drank mopre than everyone else and stayed up later and had just as much fun
- Action Jacson is also the Master Baiter which might explain his ability to handle a pole well but no ability to catch fish.
Big ASS Bass Fishing Tournament
BIG ASS BASS Invitations
You have been invited to be part of the select few who get to participate in the annual Big ASS BASS Fishing Tournament to be held once again in 2010 in Liberal, Missouri. Historically the tournament was so exclusive that only two teams were invited but due to the lack of competition in previous years we have decided to expand the 2009 field to four two man teams.
The event will be hosted at Angler's Paradise in Liberal, Missouri. Angler's Paradise is one of my favorite if not my favorite place to fish for Large Mouth Bass. They bill themselves as "bass fishing the way it used to be" and I have to agree with them. Boat Launch will be at high noon on Friday and the team with best and most Large Mouth Bass recorded by high noon on Sunday will be crowned 2009 Big ASS BASS fishing tournament.
