Contestants Experts in their own ways

We have scoured the planet and brought together a collection of the most talented and fun Fisherman the field has to offer. Each of our Fisherman is an unprecedented expert in their unique fishing skill and we're sure the tournament will benefit directly from their years of experience and knowledge.

Kuta

Team JurkBald
'07, '08, '09 Champs

The Master Netter, the Zebco King...The One...The Only....Kuta One Kanobi...AKA Kuta Kenti...KUTA!  The driver for Team Jurkbald and the winner of the Biggest Bass Award in 2008. This is his fifth year attending.

(b)Assmaster Flash

Team Browson
'10 Champs

(b)Assmaster Flash actually has the most experience at Angler's Paradise and actually landed the biggest bass there out of anyone, over 9lbs. Too bad he hasn't been able to reproduce the same results during the tournament.

Tinky

Team Sullison
3rd Tournament

Poor Tinky,  No matter how well he does as long as his teammate is just there just "for the fun." then he'll never win.  It's a good thing for all of us out tournament is really fun and we all actually leave winners.

Rock

Team Rockenhour
2nd Tournament

In his other life Rock is lawyer which puts him one level above bait.  That being said, this gives him an advantage over the rest of us because he thinks a lot like what the big fish are looking for. Will luck be on his side?

Deezballz

Team Jurkbald
'07, '08, '09 Champs

Deezballz is a machine.  You'd think ADD would keep someone from fishing but in Deeznutz case it works in his favor b/c he gets bored doing ANYTHING else so he can't stop fishing once you get him on the boat.

Brown

Team Browson
'10 Champs

Brown is bouncing back from a severe off season injury and while finally healthy will he be able to fish for 3 days?  Will he lose the big one again this year?  Or will he finally come through and win his first Biggest Bass Award?

Action Jackson

Team Sullison
3rd Tournament

This two time defending Pink Panty Award Winner is hoping to bounce back this year and finally put himself and his team on the board. It's his third year consecutive year in attendance, can he put it together this year?

The Rit

Team Rockenhour
2nd Tournament

Rit returns this year with a better understanding of how to fish Angler's Paradise and with his past experience in fishing we expect him to make his presence felt this year. Will he be able to carry Team Rockenhour?

Tournament History 2007-2010

4th Annual Big Ass Bass Fishing Tournament - 2010

4th Annual Big ASS BASS Tournament - Mid April 2010
Winners - Team Browson
Biggest Fish - (b)Assmaster Flash Size- 3lbs???
(I think)

For the 4th Annual Big Ass Bass Fishing Tournament in 2010 we decided to extended an invitation to a fifth team.  After going through several applications the founding "Four Fathers" decided to invite Team Rockenour consisting of Rit and Rock.  Team Jurkbald was returning as three time defending champs and Tinky hit the nail on the head when he asked Deezballz, "What's your motivation?"  Well not only was Deezballz unmotivated but he was injured.  He had a horrible case of the "vajayjays..."

3rd Annual Big Ass Bass Fishing Tournament -2009

3rd Annual Big ASS BASS Tournament - Late June 2009
Winners - Team Jurkbald
Biggest Fish - Deeznuts Size- 3lbs.

Year three of the Big ASS Bass Fishing Tournament came with many changes and even a little bit of controversy. Team Jurkbald won the first two years when it was a two team tournament between the Team Jurkbald and Team Brownson. The first year, Team Jurkbald won on a last minute 5 and 1/2 pounder by Deeznuts. The second year Team Jurkbald won so convincingly that there was no need to even count the totals after the final day. Year three we decided to double the competition and invited two additional teams, Team McVotto and Team Sullison. Not only did the founding "four"fathers decide to double the competition but they decided to push the trip back a little later in the year. Rather than fishing in the rain and cold we had decided to temp fate by moving our trip to the start of summer. It just so happened that the weekend we decided to go there was freak heat wave and the Sweat Your Balls Off Index was a 13 out of 10.

2nd Annual Big Ass Bass Fishing Tournament - 2008

2nd Annual Big ASS BASS Tournament - Early May 2008
Winners - Team Jurkbald
Biggest Fish - Kuta Size- Still debating

This year was wrought with bad weather making fishing both difficult and uncomfortable at times. The biggest fish was caught on the first day on a spinner near the boat in the "crappie" channel near the dock with the crappie hut. While quantity was not entirely an issue, quality was. While fishing was difficult the champions were able to meet the quote all three days. While the third day was obviously the nail in the tournament coffin, Team Jurkbald had a pretty commanding lead heading into the final day.

Angler's Paradise is barely in Missouri and in the middle of no where and it's perfect for some large mouth bass fishing!  The lake is actually old strip pits and perfect for fishing.  It's quiet, it's never crowded.  Most importantly, the fishing is good.  Angler's paradise is exactly the way fishing should be.
